Why I Blog... Again.

The whole reason why I started blogging... Again, was because of my Journalism teacher, Paul Vincent GeraƱo. He gave this to us as a requirement for our grade. He's a great teacher, very eccentric if I say so myself. Honestly he's a big part of my highschool life, I've learned a lot from him since the 5th grade. Got most of my grammar right thanks to him, why? Trust me when I say this, you don't want to have wrong grammar in front of him. Sure, he'll get mad at you a lot, but its for our own good. I've only learned to appreciate him now because it took me a long time to realize. Even if his classes are like hell (no offense) but when you get things right, it'll feel like heaven afterwards. Oh, sometimes I feel cocky, knowing that my mom was his teacher back in college. You can visit his blog at http://paulvgerano.blogspot.com/. Thanks for reading guys, and have a great day! Hahaha!

Best Game Series I've Played

Crysis, one of the best games series I've played. This game is set in the future of 2020 to 2047. You take control of various characters from Nomad (Crysis 1) to Prophet (Crysis 3). This game has one of the best stories and gameplay I've ever seen. The gameplay is a 1st person  shooter but you can do more than shooting in this game thanks to the Nanosuit. The Nanosuit can improve the user's strength, speed, and durability, you can turn invisible too! Though the suit has limits, too much use of the different modes it has will drain its energy, and its not that invincible so don't abuse the "armor mode" you'll still die eventually. The best way to play this game is with hit and run tactics. Although some missions does not allow that, sometimes you need to go all Rambo on them.

Not only that this game has great gameplay, but damn, it has great graphics! The game is almost realistic when you set the setting to the max, well, if your computer can handle it. The whole Crysis series was great, but I was a bit disappointed with how they ended it. Crysis 3 didn't reach to my expectations but I still loved it anyway. I'll give the game a 8/10 out from my opinion. The series is a bit old already, but I still recommend it to those first time gamers out there. You'll appreciate the game a lot, I'll assure you. Play the games guys. Bye!

Shingeki no Kyojin!

More anime/manga! Woh! Lets talk about Shingeki no Kyojin, or in English, Attack on Titan! Shingeki is one of the best series I've read and watched. Its story revolves around a world where people live in the fear of "Titans". Large monsters who live for one reason (well, the only reason we know) to eat and annihilate the humans. The humans constructed walls to protect themselves from these titans. This series is a mix of action, suspense and drama. The story is almost tragic, or it already is. I really recommend, to whoever is reading my blogs, to start watching and reading the series!

The God of Highschool

So yeah I read and watch anime and manga from time to time, so I'm gonna talk about one of my all time favorites, The God of Highschool.
TGoH is a Korean Manwha. Manwhas are different from mangas, they're basically manga with color and not from Japan. TGoH revolves around an 17 year-old boy named,
Jin Mo-Ri. This boy has an unusual set of skills, he uses a fictional martial art called, "Renewal Taekwondo". Renewal Taekwondo is a mix of ITF and WTF and other various martial arts. Jin Mo-Ri learned RE Taekwondo from his adoptive grandfather, Jin Tae-Jin, who mastered and perfected RE Taekwondo. This martial is so strong, that Jin Tae-Jin destroyed a mountain with one kick, and he didn't land the kick, it was the shock wave that obliterated it. Now imagine what happened if he landed it?
Now back to Jin Mo-Ri

Jin Mo-Ri was asked to join a tournament called "The God of Higschool". In TGoH tournament, fighters, martial artists, even gang members who know how to fight, are invited to compete in the tournament, to show the world who is the best. He made friends in the tournament, Han Dae-Wi, who uses Full Contact Karate, and Yu Mi-Ra, who uses her family technique, The Moon Light Sword. These epic trio have fought a lot, and there were times that they were about to lose but they always seem to find a way win. At some point of the tournament, Jin Mo-Ri found out that he was the legendary Monkey King, Sun Wukong.

So far the manwha hasn't updated yet so this is all that I can say. So, I really hope you loved reading this and I hope that you'll start to read the manwha too. Btw, I read at mangafox.com. Thanks and have a good day!

Sherlock Holmes

Hey guys! Lets talk about one of my favorite shows, or should I say my all time favorite, BBC's "Sherlock". I got hooked to the show this summer, thanks to my brother. He introduced the series to me and said that I'm be interested to watch it with him. I say, I was not disappointed. BBC's Sherlock is not your old England Sherlock homes bur was set on modern day England. Sherlock Homes is portrayed by British Actor Benedict Cumberbatch
I really to see how a modern day Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson solves cases that are out of this world. I really admire Sherlock's deductive skills. He can tell where you have been by the mud on your shoes, or tell what kind of breakfast you ate by looking at the stains on your shirt. In difficult cases, he uses what he calls a "mind palace". Sherlock puts himself in some sort of a state where he tries to remember everything that can help solve the case. He simply closes his eyes and thinks, you'll be amazed by his photographic memory. No else in the world can match Sherlock's thinking skill... And that's where Moriarty comes in.

Moriarty, Sherlock's arch-nemesis. One of the only persons in the world that can match Sherlock's mental capability and skills. Unlike Holmes, Moriarty uses his abilities for psychotic evil, or when he wants to play with Sherlock. Moriarty was always fond of Sherlock's deductive skill and he always like to put them to the test. He is truly the opposite of Sherlock Homes. They have the same great minds, but uses them with different motives. When these two collide, prepare for the worst. Its just a game of who thinks faster between the both of them.

But let's not forget our favorite, somehow a comedy sidekick, Dr. John Hamich Watson. Portrayed by British Actor Martin Freeman.

John Watson, doctor, sidekick, and most of all, Sherlock Holmes' best friend. Wherever Shelock goes, John is always by his side. They met when, John was looking for someone to live in a flat with him, then he ended up Sherlock. At first they didn't go so well, but as timed passed, the both of them clicked. Sherlock has this personality that everyone wants to avoid, no one want's to be Sherlock's friend. It was a surprise to everyone that John actually became with the great detective. Sherlock needs John's medical expertise during their field work, especially cases related to murder. These two are, some how, inseparable, and it sadden John deeply when Sherlock faked his own death, and eventually got pissed at him for doing so. These two make the best crime fighting duo ever. Better than Batman, and that's coming from a Batman fanatic.
BBC's Sherlock is an amazing show, and I recommend to all of those who haven't watch this show to start watching. Better buckle up, and prepare for a ride full mysteries, action and drama. I assure you, this show will entertain you to the MAX.

Thanks for reading and have a great day :D
And sorry for the poor grammar. I'm still new to the whole blogging universe :D

Wanna know me? Part 2: COMICS. Specifically, Batman.

So yeah, I am a comic book fanatic. I read comic books every time I have the chance. My preferred comic book publisher would be DC comics. I love the stories of DC and their heroes. If you ask me, I'll choose DC over Marvel any day of  the week. But my comic book fandom revolves more around Batman. Why? Because he's the best! Well, to me of course. Batman is the epitome of justice. He doesn't let someone go unpunished. But his brand of punishment doesn't go too far, unlike others. He believes that everyone deserves a second chance to change their ways and to become better. He doesn't kill them off, its not that easy. The Dark Knight shows the world that killing is never the option. He doesn't have the right to kill, no one does. You are not above anyone else to have the right to kill, even if you're someone from the government.

I can't really buy comics because here in Iloilo, you rarely find good DC comics. So, I usually download and use a Comic Book Reader. If I don't read comics, I usually research in the internet about them. That's it for this post. So byeeeeeeeeeeee!

Wanna know me? Part 1: Gaming

You want to know stuff about me? Well, I'm not an interesting person. I'm just your average teenage boy living his life the way he wants. But what do I do  in that certain "life"? For starters, I'm a gamer. I enjoy playing games. Gaming became a big part of my life. Its like I can't live a day without gaming. I only play games with a good story and if its online where I can enjoy playing it with my friends. People say too much playing of video games is bad. It probably is, but I can control myself... Well, sort of...
So yeah, you can call me an addict for I care. I'm me, and gaming is a part of ME.

So yeah, my friend here, Junvi de Ramos decided to take a selfie while I was playing.

From White to Yellow

More blogs. Yey! So for this blog, I'm going to talk about my promotion, from white belt to yellow belt.
So my promotion day was 3 days after the Mangahan Tournament. We had little time to prepare of the promotion but the good thing was, that I was a white belt, and the promotion from white to yellow is very easy compared to higher belts. So our forms, or Poomsae in Korean, was pretty basic.

In the picture above, I was practicing with my friends, Nikolai Valera from SVFS (Now in San Augustine) and Zachary Pijuan from Westbridge. I forget to mention about Zach representing Westbridge in my last blog.

The promotion day was on May 21, 2014. It was held by one of the gyms owned by the head instructor of the Taekwondo team in WVSU, Sir Richard Gabayoyo, in Buenavista, Guimaras. Our proctor was Sir Jun Diasnes. Our gym instructor, Lawrence Diasnes, told us stories on how strict Sir Jun can be. So I was frightened to actually confront Sir Jun, but when it was the promotion day itself, he looked kind, he was even making jokes. I didn't expect that from him.

When we began the promotion, I thought I was going to be scared. But for the first time, I was actually calm. Hell, I even felt confident. I knew I was ready for the promotion, so I had nothing to worry about. Though, I did make a mistake in one of my forms, but I guess it wasn't a big mistake because even Sir Jun commented that my forms was great during our interview. Speaking of which, during the interview that is where I got scared. I actually had to study a bit about Taekwondo to be prepared. I was expecting hard, unanswerable questions, but what I got were easy ones. He simply asked for the 5 tenets of Taekwondo, reasons why I joined, and he told me that my forms were "very good". I was happy to hear what he said. My friends told me not to worry, they told me that no fails the first promotion test, so I felt reassured. At the end of the promotion, Sir Jun announced that all of us passed, we all cheered and gave praise to ourselves after hearing that.

After the promotion, we all went back to the port and rode a pump boat home. It was tiring yet fulfilling day for all of us.

My First Fight

Yey! Another blog! Okay, I'm not really fond of making blogs but for this blog, I'm going to talk about my first Taekwondo match.

May 19. 2014, tournament day. Our team entered the 1st Mangahan Taekwondo Tournament, which was held in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras. To me, this was the most frightening experience of my life. I was still new to the whole match thing and I didn't know if I was ready. There were a lot of contestants that entered that tournament. Players that came from different Taekwondo gyms all over Panay, well, not really. But there was a team from Boracay and I think it was also their first match.

And yeah, my brother decided to take a photo of me eating a hard boiled egg. I waited a very, very, VERY long time. It took them 6 hours to announce my name for the next match. During the waiting time I felt a little relaxed, until my name was called up, and I felt like my soul just went out of my body. What shocking to me is when I realized I was matched up with my teammate from our summer class. I actually felt comfortable, knowing that he would be my opponent since we've been practicing the whole summer. We always had sparring sessions, so I sort of knew what his game style was. I felt confident, I believed in myself and my own skills. I set it in my head that I CAN win this fight, unfortunately I lost. But it was not in vain. My friends told me for a beginner, I was pretty good. They said I had potential, and I was very happy to hear all the positive feed backs. Especially from my opponent. He was pretty impressed himself.

After the tournament, we ended the day by exploring a bit. Bought some mango flavored treats, mango themed souvenirs and ate pizza topped with mangoes. That day was one of the happiest days in my life and I don't plan of forgetting everything that had happened that day.

Taekwondo: Way of the Hand and Foot

Okay, I started playing Taekwondo, like what, 3 years ago? Anyway in that span of 3 years I STOPPED. I got bored, it wasn't really my "type" of sport back then. But, I was recruited by Daniella Agacer this summer to join the team. So I said to myself, why not? So I gave it a try. At first I felt socially awkward. I didn't know anyone around me, they were complete strangers to me. WERE. As time went by, I got close to them, I started to slowly consider them as, somewhat, another family. I got so attached to them, that when school was about to start, I became really bummed. Its been 3 months since the last time I saw them, and I am DYING to see them again. Our summer team was composed of different schools. We had players from West Visayas State University, Saint Vincent Ferrer Seminary, Hua Siong, Ateneo de Iloilo, and of course Assumption Iloilo. These people, from these different schools, eventually became family to me.

The Taekwondo Family.
